I’m a full time student at a community college in Freemont California (look it up). With a little luck and a lot of studying I should be transferring out to SJSU in the fall. I’m majoring in Business with an emphasis in Marketing.
Did I mention my age yet? I’m twenty-two years young and loving it!
Other than school and work I don’t have much of a social life anymore. My only daily distraction from the routine is my boyfriend Ron who pretty much fills in all the gaps that were left behind by all the friends I’ve lost along the way.
On the days that I do need to have some ‘friends’ time however, I turn to either Haroon or Lynsey. Haroon is my best guy friend (and unofficial boyfriend without sexual benefits) and I appreciate his sincerity. We both know what it’s like to be backstabbed in friendships. Lynsey is a friend from high school that I got in contact with through the magic of Friendster and has recently become my closest (if not only) girl friend. These two are the only ones I can honestly say I can turn to if I need someone (other than the bf or course).
I’m currently working through some differences that I’ve had with other friends recently. It takes a lot for me to trust someone and even more to hold you in such high regard that I consider you almost if not family. However, those within my once close-knit circle of friends took me for granted for far too long and are now left with the void of what was once their foot stool friend. I’m not saying that I’ll never trust them again, but if I do it’s going to take a long time. They have done severe damage. I’m slowly starting not to care anymore. Perhaps this is wrong of me but I can’t go on dwelling on it forever.
My favorite pastimes include going to shows or going clubbing in San Francisco. I love music of all sorts! One of my side projects is working as a rep for Fanscape. They do a lot of promo for bands like Blink 182 and other bands of that genre. If you ever go to a show and you have people trying to hand you stickers at the end of the show well that’s what Fanscape does. They organize teams of fans (*ahem* slaves, jk) to work for the bands. With enough shows under my belt I was put as the top contact for my area so I get first dibs for most jobs as Team Leader. Also, I get to do a lot of other side projects for them like doing a demonstration for Nokia phones and putting up display posters at records stores, all of which I get paid for. For the projects I don’t get paid for I get free concert tickets and that kicks ass! I was guaranteed an internship with the company if I transferred to school in SoCal but that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen now.
My favorite club is Ruby Skye because it is beautiful and so are the people in it. I’ve tried to go to a couple of other clubs but they are full of the ghetto fabulous children who are only out looking for booty, which I’m not. RS used to be a theatre and other than taking out the seats to turn it into the dance floor they haven’t changed much else. I like to say that it’s very posh. Everyone I’ve ever taken there agrees that it is perhaps the most beautiful club in the city.
My favorite band is Sublime. Bradley Nowell (R.I.P) is California to me. Skater, surferish, different, upbeat! He wrote about all sorts of things that I can relate to my own life. He just had soooo much to say and he said it beautifully through his music.
I hope that someday I will leave mark on the world even long after I’m gone…
