fleeting

I had one of the best three day weekends of my life at the hands of my Boo! Extended weekends always rock when we’re together!

Saturday morning I got up fairly early and started fixing up a complete meatloaf dinner with all the trimmings. I would have liked to saved it for the actual dinner but I knew I wasn’t going to be around. So my first attempt at cooking meatloaf was a major success and we had a nice family lunch, which if you knew us is a rarity because we NEVER eat together.

I packed my stuff and went to pick up my Boo so we could head out to Santa Clara where we had reservations at the Marriot. We got a good deal there and we planned out our V-day. Tres romantic if I do say so myself. So obviously right off the bat there was major fooseball action going on even though we said we’d wait till we got back from dinner. Then I went to take a bubble bath but of course I couldn’t keep him away and he joined me. But the tub was too small and there was more water on the floor than in the tub and there was no fooseball going on lol! By the time we got out and got ready it was time to go to dinner. We checked out the restaurant there but they were charging an arm and a leg and decided against it. Our original plan was to head over to Santana Row and have dinner at Pasta Pomodoro (our fave). I had never been to Santana Row. They just recently finished building it. It was really really really nice. Very posh. Lots of cute boutiques. Very expensive. I didn’t spot ghetto anywhere!

Well actually I did and it was in the form of this obese African American woman wearing a short black skirt looking completely out of place! Not that I’m Calista Flockhart, (especially with my recent weight problem) but damn! Ew! Lady allow me to introduce you to Lane Bryant, they have sophisticated, flattering, even sexy clothes for us bigger chicks.

Anyway back to my story!

In the middle of the street there was like an extended island with more little shops and such that separated the two side of vehicle traffic. There was one shop that looked like a miniature cathedral or church. It was a flower shop and Ron took me in. He wanted to buy me roses cos I had gotten mad cos I never got my White Roses (my fave). I know I’m a brat for that and I’m really sorry cos I know I got way more than I deserved from him already. They ladies working there admitted that they were drunk and that all the bouquets were 50% off. Even so they were still hella expensive and I wasn’t about to let him pay that much since he had just bought me Red Roses three days before. One of the drunk chicks decided that I couldn’t walk out empty handed and handed me a bright pink rose that matched my shirt. She called us the cutest couple she’d seen all day, called her co-worker over to point us out to her and sent us on our way. It was very nice.

We had put in our names on the waiting list on the restaurant and they had said it would be a two hour wait. So we headed to the bookstore and killed some more time. About an hour later we headed back to the restaurant where it turned out a lot of people were no-shows and we were quickly seated. I guess love really was in the air cos an older couple told the host to make sure that we got treated properly and so on and so forth. Weird.

Outside it was freezing! We had our dessert in the car because I wanted to turn on the heater and then we headed back to the hotel. I pretty much passed out the second I layed on the bed, much to Ron’s dismay lol. I did however make it up to him by waking him up very early the next morning in a “special” manner. Use your imagination.

Before dinner that day we went to the mall in an attempt to exchange our gifts. I got him the hoodie he’d been wanting from American Eagle. He got me the perfume (Jean Paul Gaultier Eau de Parfum)

You’d think that a mall as big as Valley Fair would have what we were looking for but nooo!

So Sunday we went to Stonestown and we exchanged his hoodie for the correct size and my perfume for the one I wanted (he got the spray instead of the parfum). The plus side was that I got to keep all the freebies they had given him with the purchase of the other one! So now I have the matching lotion and a small sized version of the parfume tha I can carry in my purse, and bath gel.

After that I went home and did nothing. It was great!
